LUST FOR LIFE ENHANCES OUR 2025 PARTNERSHIP OFFERINGS JUST IN THE “NICK” OF TIME

HMDC and Taste of Victory Stables’ Lust for Life wired the field at Mahoning Valley Monday to record his third win in six lifetime outings. The 3-year-old was facing older $31,100 Buckeye-breds at six furlongs and pushed his abbreviated career earnings to $72,967. Trainer Mike Rone brought back the Mapleton-bred cautiously after closing out his juvenile career with a stake placing and is selective about his races. “We found a nice spot for him there, he always tries hard, and he came back running,” said the gelding’s trainer.“Yan Aviles, who rode him in his first win this year, fits him well.” Lust for Life didn’t have a chance to try hard in his last start as he bobbled at the gate break and was shuffled back to sixth, with troubled traffic up ahead. On Monday he turned the tables on two horses who finished in front of him in that start. leading at every pole and finished 1 1⁄2 lengths to the good.

PUT A HALF BROTHER TO A GRADED STAKES WINNER OUT OF LOVE SPUN FROM THE MR. PROSPECTOR SIRE LINE UNDER YOUR TREE!

That’s right! Scroll over to our 2025 YEARLING SECTION and check out our gray accredited son of DOMINUS out of Love Spun. Yes, two-time Ohio champion stallion Dominus – a Grade 2 winning grandson of Mr. Prospector (Smart Strike) out of a female family with Native Dancer influence. Very interesting. Distorted Humor is a Grade 2 winning grandson of Mr. Prospector (Forty Niner) out of a female family with Native Dancer influence. One factor that plays in our favor is the fact that Dominus gives us an Accredited Ohio-bred with Kentucky stallion bloodlines...known to “nick” well with this female family. This is just one of six offerings HMDC will have available for partnership this year. What could be better than finding a colt or filly under the tree for Christmas? One size fit all, and the memories shared through thoroughbred ownership last a lot longer than a gift certificate. The perfect gift for the whole family!

STOCKING STUFFERS COMING UP THIS WEEK ROLL ON BIG O is entered to race Tuesday the 17th in the 4th race. He’s getting respect from the oddsmaker as he is listed at 7-2 in the program. According to conditioner Megan Fadlovich, “He is doing great. Hopefully we can catch a fast track and see if he can improve off the slop.”

Megan and David Haldar hope to team up again to close out the season strong.

She is just as enthusiastic about COUNTESS COLETTE on Thursday the 19th in the feature. “She’s entered in the Bobbie Bricker Memorial Stakes. I love our post position for a ground saving trip for a closer. Looking forward to this filly's first crack at Stakes competition!” HMDC may be decorating with a little extra green this Christmas.
